Sassy Lacquer Sarahdipity

Happy Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so glad it's almost the weekend :) It feels like this week has gone on and on and on; so I'm well ready for a wee break.

FYI I'm Guest Blogger for August (understudy actually, lol) over on Sparkly Vernis so check out the post if you like, but definitely take a squizz at Alex's blog because she does some great manicures. Lots of layering, lots of glitter, lots of AWESOMENESS!
I tried to copy Sparkly's 'order of layering' that she does at the end of each post (so you know exactly which polishes and treatments she used for each mani and the order she applied them) but it only lasted 1 day or so. Turns out I'm too lazy!!! And I never write it down so I forget most of the time!!

My Sassy Lacquer order arrived on Wednesday! I've been anticipating these polishes for about a month or so, so as soon as I ripped open the box, I had to put one on!

Sarahdipity is part of the Inspirational Blogger collection. Sarah from Chalkboard Nails helped design it - hence the name! It's a sheer lilac jelly with medium and large matte white hex glitter. It's very delicate but the white hexes give it a little bit of flare.
I didn't flip out over the application though. It's very sheer and I had some trouble with streakiness. Also you might need to place the glitter a little if you use thin coats. I'm wearing 3 coats in the photos and there was still some VNL but my nails aren't that long so it looked alright.
There are bits of what I believe to be dark purple pigment on some of my nails. At the time I thought they were black specks but since looking at the photos I think it must be pigment, so I will be sure to shake my bottle up before I use it next time.

Sarahdipity would make a great top coat for something like OPI Lucky Lucky Lavender, if you dislike sheer polish.

Even though it didn't apply like a dream, I think it's worth the effort! A pale purple milky jelly was #1 on my wishlist and if I apply Sarahdipity carefully I can avoid all the glitter so it's a 2 in 1 baby! I've always been a sucker for multi-purpose products!!!!

If you could design a polish, what would it look like?

I got the polish I won from Llarowe's last giveaway today - Lorena HD Rumba. It's a gorgeous teal green glass fleck shimmer. What a great jump start on my weekend!!!

  1. It's so pretty!! The layered glitters look a little like how lights kind of blur in the rain...like in a movie? Ugh, describing it so badly. My point is: pretty! :D

I think it looks fine with the bit of VNL too. For a polish this pale and jelly-sheer, it makes perfect sense there'd be some. ;)

    1. You describe it well - I love that look of rainy windows with city lights in the background! I think I was overly harsh in my criticism of the sheerness. Thing is in person it was more obvious (but only because I was looking at it up close!) but with the glitter you really can hide VNL

  2. I love how big those glitter bits are! I don't do a lot of jellies but this really is lovely.

    1. Yeah the big hexes are amazing! And they don't curl like the metallic ones!!! It worth getting as a top coat for a creme for sure
