To celebrate here's a filthy little pink polish.

Dining At The Pink Taco is an almost frosty pink with fine glass fleck shimmer. I'm not really one for this shade of pink but it actually looked really good on me! I bought this purely because the name grossed me out (I'd never heard the term before) and cracked me up at the same time. I have a thing for toilet/guy humour but I also have ladylike sensibilities that kick in on occasion :)
I really wish I could have got a shot of DATPT in sunlight but there was none to be had for so long that I gave up and swatched it in the miserable overcast-ness that is Christchurch right now.

Now on to the nitty gritty: it's got a thick formula which applies fine, but takes a very long time to fully dry. Even with quick dry top coat it was smudge/dent-able for ages! I tried my Nicole by OPI quick dry drops but they caused bumpiness ( which happens with quite a few of my polishes actually). Other than that DATPT gets the thumbs up for me. Wearing it made me feel like a Pink Lady from Grease!!!!

BTW Thank God Dolly has got her suspension base now and can make all our favourite glitters again!!!!!!

Dollish Polish - Fat Guy in A Little Coat

This is one of my favourite Dollish Polish lacquers of all time. And it really surprised me because I usually run away from frosty finishes.

Fat Guy in a Little Coat is inspired by a scene in Tommy Boy where Chris Farley puts on David Spade's coat and does a little dance. I just watched the scene myself, it's pretty funny when the coat splits in two! I think the combination of the beige/dessert khaki base and the green and blue glitters mimic the layers of clothing Farley wears in the scene.

I played around with Fat Guy In A Little Coat before I settled on layering it over Essie's Case Study for the swatches above. On it's own the polish is fairly sheer, so you need at least 3 layers to eliminate VNL. By that stage the shimmery beige/khaki base ends up obscuring the blue and green hex glitter and looks very frosty.
On a whim, I put one coat on over Case Study which was the closest match in my stash and I think the result is amazing. FGIALC ended up looking like it does in the bottle, only opaque! The overall effect looks to me like a pith helmet in the jungle!!!

If you don't mind using it as a top coat and you love unique/fugly polishes I definitely recommend getting your hands on FGIALC when Dolly next restocks the store.

This is Sunshine from Haze Glaze

Sunshine is a tangerine (this pale orange is what I call tangerine FYI) frosty shimmer. It is scattered with small gold hex glitter and large dark orange & golden holographic hex. I think there is also some square glitter in there too but I'm not sure what colour it is, maybe tangerine too? The application was pretty decent, you have to give it a good shake to get the large hex glitters onto your nail but it wasn't difficult or anything. It actually looked like 1 coat gave full coverage but I added another because that's just what I'm used to!! I then topped it with SV Quick Dry top coat.

I have to say this is not my favourite shade, though it looks quite nice on me. It looked like a sheer gold shimmer with glitter in the etsy listing and I actually bought it because I thought it'd be a great layering polish. Well it turned out to be a pale orange which just isn't my style but it is very pretty. And just like with Mermaid Dreams, the longer I see it on my nails the more I'm liking it. I do enjoy a polish that grows on me, as opposed to the ones that slowly lose my favour!
