Orange & Gold

Got a stamping plate review for you today for Born Pretty Store!

QA73 is an odd mix of lace, currency signs and full nail patterns. I love the fleur de lis-esque pattern! I stamped it on to OPI A Roll In The Hague with China Glaze Passion.

The pattern transferred just fine so I'd certainly recommend this plate to others. I hope the lace patterns transfer just as well!

The plate is only US$1.49 from Born Pretty Store. Feel free to use my 10% off coupon QHL91 the next time you buy some nail art supplies!

My last exam is tomorrow hooray, better get back to the studying!

Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

Born Pretty Store sent me a different kind of nail stamping tool to review. The template is actually the stamper, so you use less equipment than with the traditional metal template stamping systems.

Aren't these darling?!

I chose the A11 template because I wanted the diamonds!
I can't say I had great results, though that may have been because I used a quick drying chrome to stamp with which isn't really an advantage with these silicone stamps.

See? Some diamonds transferred better than the others, but there was almost always some silver polish left in the template.
Next time I'll try a regular stamping polish and see if that helps. I do love the design though. The other drawback with these is you have to repeatedly stamp them on a piece of paper over and over before you apply them to your nail to remove the excess polish outside of the pattern template. I found that it took a bit of time and I'd prefer to do a quick scrap. The disc was easy to manipulate in a rolling motion over the nail.
The plates are only US$2.99 each!

You can get loads of nail art supplies from bps for CHEAP with free worldwide shipping. To sweeten the deal even more, use my 10% off coupon on any/all orders for even more savings.

31 Day Challenge: Day 16 - TRIBAL

Hey guys,

I've been MIA for a few days now and this mani is the reason why! It sucked the happy out of me!

This is my all time low - blogging wise.

2 coats BYS Urban Jungle, stamped with China Glaze Street Chic in sunlight

I attempted this mani several times; the WAHnails print was a disaster (I need bigger nail beds or skinnier brushes/acrylic paint?, and freehand was way too much for me so I went to plan C, stamping. And instead of using a proper stamping polish I used a normal one, that was too thin and a design that didn't cover my entire nails so there's overlap and it's just all over nasty :(

The one positive is that I used BYS Urban Jungle as my base and I love it! I got it at bling! (regrettably) while they were having a buy 2 get 1 free sale on cosmetics - score! I don't have another green like it but I'm thinking it's in the same colour group as Essie Sew Psyched. Will have to compare them.

Sorry for the not so hot mess!

xxx Michaela
