Christmas Wrapping Paper Manicures

We're 3 days in to December so it's probably about time for some Christmas nail art!

I did a couple of wrapping paper manis using designs from BM-423

I'm actually pretty stoked with this mani because I managed to get all but the ring finger relatively straight!!!!!

Emily de Molly Stamping Plate 01

Emily de Molly has started making stamping plates! Two are already available (EDM01 & 02) and three more are coming soon. You have to take a look for yourself because these plates are the best I've ever seen - no joke.

I've used a couple of the patterns off EDM01 so far - enjoy.

The Polish Well Haru Haru stamped with Konad Special Polish White & EDM01

This is the pattern from the top right of the plate. It transfers perfectly for an intricate design (the middle finger is a mess because I'm a shit stamper).

The Polish Well Tonight stamped with A England Princess Sabra & EDM01

 This pattern is Emily de Molly's signature lace design featured on her business cards - from the bottom of the plate. It transferred perfectly too - though it may be hard to tell in the photos! 

I think I'm digging these pretty patterns because they have a delicate femininity about them (and don't seem at all childish like a lot of my stamping plates) and can all be used horizontally or vertically without screwing up the design.

01 & 02 are currently sold out but hopefully they will be back in stock when 03, 04 & 05 launch!

All You Need Is Love

I got the new Bundle Monster stamping plates and the first design I tried was the Love tattoo! Whoever designed that one, thank you!!!!

It stamps AMAZINGLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I used Essie Brooch The Subject as a base and Konad Special Polish in Black to stamp with.

The 2013 BM Create Your Own collection is available here for US$16.50. You can also buy individual plates from the collection for $1.99 a piece - good move by BM, cos I really want some of those holiday plates. Just not ALL of them.

Ninja Polish Pinkerbell & Stamping

I had a 90 minute massage today. Phwoar! By the end of it I admit I'd fallen in love with my masseuse a little. Hot stones baby!!!!

I finally picked up Pinkerbell from Ninja Polish (created by NailVenturous) in December.
I applied 3 coats and 2 layers of Glitter Tamer. Then I stamped it using a plate from Ninja Polish too. It was a really hot day though so, the stamp didn't transfer properly. It's still really cute though.

I'm in love with OB15 Stamping Plate. It has a tribal/80s-90s fluoro vibe to all the full nail patterns. There's also some random cartoon cats on it which are pretty cute, though I'm not sure I'll ever use them...

And here Pinkerbell is on her lonesome.

Pinkerbell is brighter in person. My lightbox just can't seem to photograph floams quite right. This is my favourite floam by far! It's pink, blue, green and a sprinkling of yellow micro matte glitters in a clear base. I used 3 thin coats followed by 2 layers of Glitter Gloss in these pics. I think it'd look best layered over a complimentary pink or some ridgefiller/nude undies to make it look like the coverage is perfect. Application isn't too bad, you just have to wait for each coat to dry before adding the next or the bottom coat's glitter may move, creating bald spots.

 I finally managed to do my tips in the lace stamp from m57! It's about the 4th time I've tried this. And when I saw Cristina's manicure with this stamp I knew i had to try once more. Unfortunately it's awfully crooked but not too awful in the scheme of my nail art disasters.

I used Konad White Special Polish for the stamping. Here is Blue Year's Eve by itself:

This is two coats over Orly Armor, with a coat of SV on top. It has a really nice formula, no application issues, but it stains like most dark blues. BYE is a medium royal blue shimmer - it might even be very fine glitter particles. Either way it is very cool. Oddly enough, it doesn't not suit me, if you know what I mean. So I likey!

I finally got a chance to redo the photos of Arsty Crafty & Blue-topia from the Back to Boho Fall 2011 Collection.

Artsy Crafty was described as the ultimate muted military green. Yeah, not so much in my opinion... I see it as a greyed hunter green. It's definitely muted though. I'm a big fan. The tips are a bit roughed up because just as I'd put Artsy Crafty on the sun came out and I rushed to hang out the washing! There was no time to let it fully dry :) It dries so glossy too. The formula was pretty good, I kept putting too much on the brush though so, in an attempt to get the excess off my nails I got a little cuticle drag on my ring finger. Two coats was perfect coverage. And I'm holding a glitter gal polish in my hand, not AC BTW. That's too many acronyms too close together.

Pretty, right? Blue-topia is just as it's name suggests! A gorgeous indigo blue jelly. Opaque in 2 coats as well. Lovely formula,goes on like butter, but it smells awful. I don't think it's what all CCs smell like or it wouldn't have stood out so much. This is a beautiful dark blue dream though.

I wanted to add a bit of jazz to old bluey so I got out Lumin-icecent (from CC Foiled) and m57.
Here's how it turned out:

I wasn't paying enough attention while I was stamping, so I stamped my ring & little finger upside down. Lets pretend I was trying out which orientation I liked better...
The Foiled polishes are great for stamping, BONUS. Just another way I 'justify' my addiction.

NOTD OPI Blue My Mind Cloudy Skies

Right now my kitty cat Sophie & my puppy dog Charlie are having a snooze and a cuddle on my bed! Well poor 21 year old Sophie is actually  following me and head butting me trying to get some more attention. I think she's so senile she doesn't realise she's had lots of love already today!!! But she is beautiful so I don't mind too much.

Here's what I did to my nails this morning:

OPI Blue My Mind stamped with White Special Polish Clouds (m79)

First I put on some base coat and 3 coats of OPI Blue My Mind because it just arrived the other day and I'd been dying to see if it was as amazing as I had always dreamed it... It is!!!!!!!! I can't believe it took me so long to buy BMM. A perfect royal blue - sheer which explains the need for 3 layers, but it's worth it especially since the formula is so thin and goes on smoothly.

Next I stamped the cloud pattern from m79 on each nail using White Konad Special Polish. Probably not the best colour to put on top of a dark blue cos it shows through a bit but I think it worked. Very average stamping job on my behalf but I'm still learning the art of Konad so big whoop.When I put my hand out in front of my face it looked like I was wearing Sally Hansen Nail Wraps so I was quite happy!

With 1 coat of OPI Last Friday Night

Lastly I put on 1 coat of OPI Last Friday Night because I wanted it to look a bit rainy, but it just looks sparkly to me. And there's nothing wrong with that! I think it is cute anyway - not all that age appropriate but I didn't have work so :p !!!!!

What do you think? I ordered the new Bundle Monster plates yesterday too! Can't wait for them to arrive

Gold Konad on Russian Navy

I just ate a WHOLE mess of pizza and am currently laying on my back taking deep breaths while typing. It seriously feels like I am going to give birth to a Hell's Pizza. I think it's time to stop eating when you start to get sharp stabby pains in your lower belly...

Anyways, I've had OPI Russian Navy for quite a while but have never worn it other than to swatch it (mainly because it seemed too dark to wear in summer/autumn. But now that winter has rolled round (this week was the shortest day, so it's uphill from here hooray!) I decided I couldn't wait any longer to wear this beaut.
Russian Navy has a very dark navy base with loads of purple and pink shimmer and in most lights it is a blurple (blue/purple). I applied 2 coats then used konad gold special polish to stamp the foliage pattern from plate m83 onto my nails. To top it off I used a coat of OPI Rapidry.

The gold is fairly sheer so lots of RNs shimmer shines through and I think it looks pretty special. What do you think? i found it hard to get a good photo of this mani in the shade because it was night time when I photographed it but it's best in light anyways, in the shade the stamping is pretty subtle.

Fishnet Konad & BRIDESMAIDS

Helloooooooooooooooo I just saw Bridesmaids - Oh My Freaking God! Seriously the funniest film I have ever seen. It is the female cast better version of Wedding Crashers,just the best lines and physical comedy I have seen in a long looooong time. And its not a chick flick, lots of gross boy humor!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously my brother thought it was stand out AMAZING too!

So I'm not a big fan of this mani, it's the fishnet print from m57. I think I just put it on the wrong color. OPI DS Extravagance is just beautiful by itself - one of my top 5 polishes - but with black netting on top... AVERAGE. I meant to do a nude/baby pink nail with this stamp but when I put Suzi & the Lifeguard on it took about 2 hours to stop being tacky and I therefore ended up with hundreds (well more like 5 or 6) of dents/scratches in it so I took it off and painted a quick dry one on instead and that was Extravagance. But what do I know, you might like it and if you do thank you :)
BTW I used Konad Black Special Polish for the stamping
