Ozotic Sugar 903 Swatches & Review

Ozotic Sugar 903 is another of the polishes the kind ladies from Picture Polish sent for review.

903 can be worn alone or layered. It is an ice blue shimmer made up of micro colour-shifting flakes which shift from blue-purple-fuchsia.  Alone it is a bit sheer but looks just like it does in the bottle, very ethereal with flashes of pink in the light.

I swatched it over Essie Bobbing for Baubles (a greyed and muted navy), and the true colour shift became super obvious!

I love how 903 looks layered. This is just 1 thin coat (it's a seriously concentrated polish). The fuchsia and purple is way more obvious in the shade and so beautiful! The formula is pretty thick and glides on like butter.

The NZ Picture Polish reseller is Gracie Lou and she sells the Sugar range for $15.50, but they are on sale right now for $13.95. She has wee sales quite frequently too.

Kunimitsu Nail Potions - Pegaus

Hey ladies,

I ordered my first Kunimitsu Nail Potions in September (I think) and this swatch has been sitting in the vault since then!!
Which is a real shame because Pegasus is one gorgeous lacquer.
I layered it over Pic de Subenuix from my last post (see working has made me lazy and now I'm just working through old swatches!! But if the weather co-operates I'll be doing as much swatching as possible this weekend).

Pegasus is a chunky matte white glitter top coat with fine purple holo glitter in a clear base.  There are large, medium and small white hexes as well as large squares in this topper. The white glitter is the plastic-like kind so it's very vivid, but it requires the dabbing method of application. I usually find dabbing glitter topcoats a PITA, but not so with Pegasus. I love that I can choose where to place the large squares and hexes, especially because I have narrow nail plates, so I have to put bigger pieces of glitter on less curved areas of my nails or they stick out too far. It also allows you to control the coverage, because Pegasus is chock a block full a glitter!!! You definitely get your money's worth!
The purple holo glitter is a nice touch, giving a magical quality :) I added 2 layers of Glitter Gloss to smooth this one out.

The maker of Kunimitsu Jessica is a real joy! Her customer service is fantasic, she opens the store every second weekend and still takes individual orders in between openings. She threw in 2 or 3 mini bottles of Halloween themed glitters and some lollies as freebies with my order. I noticed some gorgeous new polishes that I will be ordering as soon as I can afford too.

Sorry, too busy for proper post today ladies.

Pic de Subenuix is a beautiful bluish purple with strong sea green/aqua shimmer. It's got a thick formula so you may before to thin it. My only complaint is that the pigments spots are a bummer! Super pretty though. Pictured is 2 coats with 1 layer of top coat.

Try to do a decent post tomorrow.

Ozotic Scatter Chrome 912 Swatch & Review

Picture Polish kindly sent me some of their newest creations to review. I'll be posting them over the month of December.
Today I have 912, 1 of 4 polishes from the Scatter Chrome collection: (sorry about the quality of the photos, my camera hates chromes, they always look hazy).
NB - I'm holding Ozotic Beam 907 in the photos below.

912 is a purple - gold duochrome with scattered holographic effect. The colour shift is really pretty (Mum approved!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*), from purple - fuchsia/pink - russet - green/gold. It's really hard to capture all the different colours you see in person, but you definitely get more than the dominant purple and gold.
The holo shards looks killer in direct light, adding a rainbow of sparkle to the ever changing duochrome.

China Glaze No Plain Jane is a dupe, except for the scattered holo shards. The formula and pigmentation of Ozotic 912 is superior though. Two coats provide a good depth and coverage. The formula is on the thicker side and the brush is fairly wide and soft.

*Mum was a bit miffed looking when the courier man arrived (assuming I had bought even more!!!), but when I explained it had been sent for review and she laid her eyes on 912, she was genuinely excited!!!!! She tried it on immediately (soft spot for purples you see!)

Kiwis can buy 912 and other Ozotic and Picture Polish lacquers from NZ Reseller Gracie Lou for $15.50 each.

Here are a whole lot of other ways to keep up to date with piCture pOlish release and find a seller closest to you!

Spam: What I've Been Wearing Lately

Since my move and the sawing-off of my nails, I've been loathe to photograph my manis!
But I did take pics of a few because I wore lots of untrieds and today I'll be sharing them with you.

Here goes:

Dollish Polish Hero of Time in between OPI Samoan Sand
lamp

macro
Hero of Time is one half of the Dollish Polish Legend of Zelda duo. Made up of green, brown, bronze, beige and yellow/gold glitters; it looks killer sandwiched with OPI Samoan Sand (a sheer nude). HoT  is suspended beautifully in a clear base and gives even coverage. Pictured is 2 coats of Samoan Sand, 2 coats of Hero of Time, followed by another layer of Samoan Sand and 1 coat of NYC GCS.

Essie As Gold As It Gets over OPI Samoan Sand
lamp
The nude Samoan Sand was my favourite lacquer the first week! It didn't draw any unwanted attention to my uneven/misshapen nubs :) I added a coat of Essie As Gold As It Gets, an irregular pale gold  flake top coat for a little nude shimmer. It looked rather pretty. Pictured here is 2 coats of Samoan Sand, 1 coat of A Gold As It Gets and 1 coat of INM Out the Door.

Picture Polish Demeter

macro
Demeter is a ridonkulously beautiful rich molten chocolate brown creme with scattered holographic chards! It has warm mahogany undertones that really show up in direct sunlight. Application was just like a creme, simple pimple. Pictured is 2 coats of Demeter with 1 layer of INM Out the Door top coat.

Elixir Lacquer With A K

With a K was on my wishlist for the last 6 months at least!!! Finally, I snapped it up during an Elixir Lacquer sale last month. It's a purply-pink with ultra-fine and medium silver holo hex glitter. It reminds a lot of Girly Bits Razzle Dazzle (which I'm still trying to get a full size bottle of!). The formula is a little sheer (so it would be great for layering over pinks and purples) so pictured is 3-4 coats with 1 layer of NYC GCS top coat. The holo is more striking in person, unfortunately the sun was dipping in and out of the clouds when I was trying to get photos.

Happy Hands Springs over China Glaze For Audrey
sunlight

macro
Springs is a sheer turquoise jelly with pale seafoam matte hex glitter and large pale green and holo silver hex glitter.  I think it would look nice semi-sheer worn alone, but I chose to layer it over a tiffany blue creme. Application isn't too bad, but it dries quite textured so I recommend a lot of top coat to smooth out those large hex edges. They're probably more suited to a larger nail plate, still they are beautiful. Springs reminds me of mermaids and swimming in the ocean in the middle of summer.

So what have your nails been rocking of late? Can't believe it's December already! I will have to bust out some Christmas themed manis, yikes!
