Day 30: Inspired by a TUTORIAL

Yes!

The day finally arrived that I got to try out the famous SPLATTER manicure...

How could you not love this?! It's playing with straws and paint - reminds me of arts and crafts at preschool!!!

I thought it'd be a great time to try out a few of my new polishes - Nubar Boyfriend Jeans & Dark Wash Jeans from the Nubar Jeans Collection (kind of lame-o name Nubar - couldn't it have been Dark Wash Denim at least?) which are awesome blues, and a nudie from OPI, Samoan Sand.

I read the tutorial from The Polishaholic on splatters and just went for it. I took these pics outside in the lovely sunshine :)
I used 3 coats of SS as a nude base, then splattered 1st with DBJ - got a huge gloob on my ring finger & when I splattered on the BJ (oops) I got a massive gloob in the exact same place. They say you can't go wrong with a splatter, right?

Anyway, I think the results are awesome & the only thing that really takes time is taping around my nails so my fingers don't get covered in the polish. Do you like my colour combo too?

This is by far my favourite challenge thus far. And tomorrow ends it all!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm still trying to decide what/whose look to recreate... Ideas?

Hope you are all having fandidilly-astic Sunday/Saturdays.

Day 29: Inspired by the SUPERNATURAL

Good Evening My Pretties,

I kept the Supernatural nails nice and simple for this challenge - just stuck to stamping:

Thumb - Pinky: China Glaze Ick-A-Body, It's Alive, OPI Chop-sticking to my Story, Nubar Midnight Sky & China Glaze Ghoulish Glow, Zombie Zest

Both these pics were taken indoors in artificial lighting. So I pretty much did a skittles mani using Halloween colours & stamped them with my Bundle Monster plates. My favourite is my thumb - love the bats!!!! I think they look cool over Ick-A-Body too - they're quite subtle in real life.
I didn't bother with a glow in the dark pic of my ring finger because it wasn't strong enough for my camera to detect. I only did one thick coat though, maybe 2 would have been better - but most reviews for GG say it's pretty average, glow-wise.

Take care & have a good night guys,
xxx

Day 28: Inspired by a FLAG

Yes! The weekend is here!

I think our weather is turning rainy, but I don't mind because my mum just got home from a 2 month trip in Africa.
It's so good to have her home - I know her dog Charlie is glad to have her back :)

In honour of her trip I decided to paint my nails based on one of the countries she toured : Botswana - here is the Bostwana Coat of Arms & national flag:

I mainly used tape to achieve this look - but I used so much Seche Vite (3 layers) and I had to try to fix up lots of boo-boos that I think I'll just use a nail art striper next time. I love that Zebra's are on their coat of arms because I got to use my Bundle Monster zebra print for the first time and I think it's way nicer than the Konad one - think it's the finer lines :) Mum saw heaps of Zebras - I think they're my fav African animal besides Hippos!

Hope you like it
