A Couple Cadillacquer Gems

These are the other Cadillacquer polishes I got when I hauled the Breaking Bad Collection a few months ago.

Cadillacquer 9 Crimes

9 Crimes is a muted slate blue/purple gray glass fleck shimmer with matte white hex and square glitter. It's a bit different than I expected based on swatches I'd seen, but I'm feeling it. I applied 2-3 coats for full coverage.

Cadillacquer Now and Then

Now and Then (favourite girl's coming of age film FYI, oh and the Hairy Bird too!) is a white/palest purple crelly with purple & white flake shimmer and purple hex glitter. Yum! I applied 3 coats which made it a little too thick, so next time I'll stick with two generous coats.

Cadillacquer Slice of Life

Slice of Life is a medium orange based red with glass fleck shimmer. The coverage was pretty decent for a red - I think this was two coats. I'm a real sucker for red lacquers!

Cadillacquer is available here and at various e-stockists.

KB Shimmer Plum Tuckered Out & Every Nook And Cranberry

Last year I got quite a few of the KB Shimmer Holiday Collection. This year I limited myself to just two (mainly because all the others were out of stock!):

KB Shimmer Plum Tuckered Out

Plum Tuckered Out is a deep red based purple with duochrome shimmer flecks that shift from blue-purple-pink. I applied two medium coats for full coverage and 1 coat of INM Out the Door for a bit of gloss/,

KB Shimmer Every Nook and Cranberry

Every Nook and Cranberry is a pink leaning red, loaded with glass fleck shimmer, with a matte finish. It's gorgeous and covers nicely in two thin coats. It' ok with top coat but I prefer it matte, myself.

Christmas Wrapping Paper Manicures

We're 3 days in to December so it's probably about time for some Christmas nail art!

I did a couple of wrapping paper manis using designs from BM-423

Konad Special Polish Green & BM423 stamped over The Polish Well Wrath

I'm brilliant at the accidentally crooked stamping, right?!

China Glaze Passion & BM423 stamped over The Polish Well Evil Witch

I'm actually pretty stoked with this mani because I managed to get all but the ring finger relatively straight!!!!!

What are you doing to get in to the Christmas spirit? Any one just getting in to the Christmas 'spirits'? :)

Saturday Spam: The Polish Well

Exams are done - just have to wait for the results now....

The Polish Well makes some beautiful lacquers from time to time. I managed to place a pre-order for some of her newer shades recently and they did not disappoint!
I only wish I'd bought full sized bottles instead of the minis!!!

The Polish Well Bad Boy

Bad Boy is a muted slate/navy blue with multi-coloured micro-flake shimmer. Two coats.

The Polish Well Coraline

Coraline is a Halloween creation of teal blue jelly with green-blue micro-glitters and flakes. Two coats.

The Polish Well Evil Witch

Evil Witch is another Halloween colour, a forest green jelly with square and hex green glitter and coppery gold micro-glitter. Two coats.

 The Polish Well Love Dust

Love Dust is a real beauty, but man is this coral-pink a BITCH to photograph?! It is more pink than the photo suggests with gold micro-flakes and super fine pink/purple shimmer. This one is more sheer so it requires three coats.

The Polish Well Monster

Monster is a close dupe for Butter London Two Fingered Salute. The oxidised copper green creme contains pale green shimmer and copper glitter flakes. Two coats.

The Polish Well Tonight

Tonight is a warm grape jelly chock full with multi-coloured iridescent flakes. Two coats.

The Polish Well Wrath

Wrath is from the Seven Deadly Sins Collection; a red jelly, red and gold glitter. Three coats.

Hope everyone celebrating Thanksgiving & Hanukkah are enjoying their holidays and to everyone else: Happy Weekend!

Mod Lacquer Swatches

Mod Lacquer recently introduced International Shipping, hooray!!!
I had inquired about it in the past and Jennifer kindly emailed me to let me know I could finally get some of her pretty polishes!

I loved the look of the pastel holo glitters so they had to go in to the cart. Let's see what else took my fancy!

Mod Lacquer Majestic

Majestic is a warm brownish purple with rust coloured shimmer, giving it an almost duochrome effect. It hasn't photographed too well in my light box but in person the shimmer is strong and the shade is fabulous for winter - very wine like. This one required two-three thin coats for full coverage.

Mod Lacquer Cherry Fizz

Cherry Fizz is a medium red with ultra-fine silver holo glitter. It sparkles beautifully in the sun, but it's not as vibrant as I'd like. I used two thin coats for a wonderfully opaque finish. Top coat makes a world of difference too, but this guy isn't gritty so anything will do!

Mod Lacquer Dreamland

Dreamland is the perfect lavender (with silver holo glitter) shade! I can't get enough of these purples, and the glitter really stands out too. This was a good two coater, but if you're using thin coats I'd recommend three. Again, you need some top coat to bring out the holo sparkle.

Mod Lacquer Serenity

Serenity is a delicate pale pink (ever so slightly grayed due to the silver glitter), with the same ultra-fine holo glitter. It is a bit sheerer than the others so I needed three thin coats, minimum! These shades make me feel so girly and carefree!

Mod Lacquer Seabound

Seabound is a pastel seafoam green with silver holo glitter. It is as pretty as the others and slightly sheer like Serenity so it's another three coater. And don't forget that top coat for shine!!!

 Mod Lacquer Imperial Serpent

I was most excited for Imperial Serpent! It's a dark purple (grape) loaded with fine silver holo and green glitter. The effect in sunlight is amazing! As well as the prismatic effect you also see the green glitter glowing. I only applied two coats for an opaque finish - then I added some Seche Vite because IS is a bit grittier than all the other!

Gorgeous, right?!
Which are your favourites?
