The wretched right hand makes an appearance

I keep all my small and mini bottles of polish in a separate area from my full sized bottles. When I was in Christchurch, they sat in a desk rack; but since I moved back to Auckland they have been sitting in a box all jumbled together and forgotten!!!

All of my amazing Specialita Hits polishes have been shunned since November and truth be told for the second half of last year too.
So when I was choosing which polish to wear on my first day of Course, I decided the Hits had to make a comeback!

I ended up picking the orange jelly flakie Hula from the Mundo de Dancas Collection. I'd never worn it and the orange is eye-searingly bright and summery, so it was the obvious choice.

Specialita Hits Hula with Butter London West End Wonderful gradient

Hula is a scorching orange jelly with orange flakies. It almost attacks your eyes it's so saturated. I applied 3 thin coats and there was still slight VNL.

On the second day I added a gold glitter gradient to the tips - just to hide them really!!! I'm not great at the glitter gradient and am yet to try a real gradient using The Nailasaurus' method so it's pretty messy, but change is good! Gotta keep stepping out of my nail comfort zone :)

The first two photos were of my right hand, yikes! They look so back to front!! I once swatched on both hands but it has been a few years and I am severely rusty and shaky with the photos!!! I just can't position my right hand nicely for photos.

Have you mastered the Glitter Gradient yet? Feel free to give me pointers guys!!!!! Please?

Wing Dust Collections Swatches

I ordered these lacquers around October-November last year and thanks to the postal service they never showed up. Luckily Stephanie is amazingly kind and reshipped them free of charge (and threw in a free lacquer to boot!!!) about a month later.

I tried them all out this Summer, but never got any photos to share with you, so I made a real effort last week to swatch them all, because they deserve to be shown off!!!!

Ready?

Wing Dust Crazy On You

Crazy On You makes me want to start stalking a hot guy!!!! It has a deep charcoal sort of base with fine multichrome shimmer flakes that shift from blue-purple-pink. The overall effect is that of a dark blue/purple polish with cornflower blue and fuchsia hex glitter and pink shimmer. I can't believe how complex COY is! Gorgeous!!! It needed 3 thin coats for full opacity and 1-2 layers of Seche Vite to smooth out the finish. I'm definitely crazy on it :)

Wing Dust Snakeskin Shoes

Snakeskin Shoes is beautiful indigo/burple jelly packed with blue shimmer flecks and fuchsia, blue and purple glitter. WOW! I saw preview pics of SS about a month before it was released and knew it had to be mine! I applied two, thin flowing coats and one layer of Seche Vite. It dries surprisingly smoother than expected.

Wing Dust Mind Blueing

Mind Blueing is a light sky blue with subtle fine blue/white flake shimmer as well as pink/fuchsia, green and blue glitter. I'm still trying to decide if the fuchsia hexes are holographic or just glow? I'm going to say they are holo!! Everything is better HOLO! Application was good on this one, I think 2 coats looked fine but I added a third for the photos. I topped this one off with a layer of Seche Vite.

Wing Dust Grey Sky Morning

Grey Sky Morning is a lighter grey crelly with blue shimmer flecks, periwinkle and cornflower blue hex glitter. Application is very easy, I believe this was 3 thin coats, topped with 2 layers of Jordana Quick Shine Topcoat.
This is the perfect overcast, rainy day polish!!!!! And I have no need for Girly Bits Long Winter Nap now :)

I'm not sure if I like the Jordana TC yet; but for $3 I can't complain, right?! Or I shouldn't, anyway!!

Wing Dust reopens its Etsy store shortly with some new creations and in the meantime there are a few shades still in stock at Llarowe.

The BATTLE #7: Geometric vs Flora

Ok, I've enjoyed an almost  3 month hiatus on The BATTLE Nail Art Challenge, but here I am with Challenge 7. I chose to go Geometric with this one, I hope this stamping counts!

Geometric Nail Art

I started with a base of Maybelline My Varnish in 357 (I think, the labelling was confusing) and stamped on this neat pattern of BM 319 using Jade Vermelho Surreal. I was trying to get the complimentary red to show up in the holo stamp, but it's not really noticeable. I topped this mani off with a layer of Seche Vite.

I love subtle stamping, especially with vampy reds!!

I'm going to try to knock out a couple more of the BATTLE challenges over the next month, maybe catch up to everyone else?!
