 Cheshire is a mix purple, fuchsia, silver holo, and yellow glitters in a clear uncut suspension base. It's on the thick side, but I had absolutely no issues with application and I got great coverage in 1 coat (over Pic du Gar), so the thickness does not bother me in the slightest. Crows Toes lacquers are designed to be thinned to your liking, so you end up with tons and tons of glitter packed in to every bottle. The glow from the yellow and silver holo glitter just pushes Cheshire over the edge to the INCREDIBLE WINS of 2012 category.

The large fuchsia hexes and yellow medium hexes are sparser than the smaller holo, purple and fuchsia glitters, but they were still easy to get on the nail. I didn't have to do any glitter placing or dabbing, I just had to push back a few glitters that were hanging over my free edge. Cheshire is a bit chunky so I topped my mani off with 1 coat of Glitter Gloss and INM Out the Door (which I love for the hard shell it gives my manis with zero shrinkage).

I used Pic du Gar as the base for Cheshire. It's a semi-satin finish warm purple jelly from Elevation Polish's Pyrenees Collection. This is the sort of purple with red undertones that is seriously up my alley. I used 3 coats for perfect coverage, because with 2, it was a little thinner around my cuticles. If I had waited a bit longer between coats I could have made 2 work.

You can get Pic du Gar from Elevation Polish on Big Cartel or Etsy and I'm pretty sure it's still in stock. But please note that Lulu is on vacation til the 22nd September so the stores are temporarily closed.

God I love wearing a glitter top coat that isn't filled with those awful, hairy bars! I thought I had finally gotten on board with the trend, but I've recently realised I can only handle short, thin bar glitter. The rest just makes me angry!!!! Bring back exclusively hex glitter top coats please Indies!!!! Novelty shaped glitter has started to grow on me though. I've been yearning for some cute butterfly and heart glitter lacquers this week!

Nail Polish Anon NZ Giveaway

Cinderella is a pastel blue with gorgeous pink shimmer and Aisle Be There is a pink flake shimmer top coat which looks perfect over Cinderella! The French Tip Dip is the cheaters way to perfect french tips! I discovered it on someone's blog (sorry I don't remember who's). It comes with a nail tip template in 4 different sizes to fit all nail sizes (plus extra tools you might need for a mani), and basically you dip the tip template into a pottle of your french tip polish then press it onto the tip of your nail and viola - the perfect french tip.
I know, that's a bad explanation, but it comes with an instruction card and they have an instructional video clip on the web, so you'll be an ace in no time. I've used my own set a few times and once I got the hang of it, my french manis looked 100x better than when I tried to do my tips freehand or with guides.

Sample Bar has landed! KIWI SPECIFIC POST

Where my NZ ladies at?

I am so excited that we finally have a beauty subscription service launching on NZ soil!

It's called Sample Bar. And after seeing monthly Glossy Box and Birch Box posts I'm so happy that we will be getting a chance to try SB out!

They're calling it Glam Pack by Sample Bar - which includes 5 luxury samples each month for $25.
There are limited places (according to their facebook page, 400) on their wait list for the launch so head to Sample Bar ASAP!

Where are a few subscription options from 3-12 months with lump sum payment but you don't get a discount so why not go for the monthly payment option, unless you're gifting the subscription to someone?

Sparkly Vernis Franken Polish

The AMAZING Sparkly, sent me a bottle of her super special 1 coat purple holo glitter franken. She said she only gives it to really special people... I must be very lucky!!

Sparkly's Franken is a purple base jam packed with gold holographic glitter. This guy is thickish and applies like a dream!! YOu can get great coverage in 1 coat, but I applied 2 thin coats instead.

I am in love with this purple dream! My bestie drooled over it at work the other day so I painted her nails with it on Saturday and the girls in her class apparently adored it! We're talking 5 year olds here, so purple and sparkly/shiny = MAGNET!

Crows Toes Bunny Slope/Angel Paint & Orly Pixie Dust

Hello ladies,

I had a lovely day at work! The kids were almost well behaved and I managed to while away the hours by supervising them outside and then playing some Uno! I also got to help them make skyscraper book marks and watched Matilda!!!!!! The best Roald Dahl movie adaptation ever!
Who can honestly say that Trunchbull doesn't scare the be-jesus out of them?!!!!
I forgot how good Danny Devito is in it too :)

I just looked up Mara Wilson (Matilda) and it turns out that she won't be making a comeback to the big screen any time soon. What a pity! She doesn't like making films - well not mainstream blockbusters anyway - but I think she's still doing theatre. Something tells me that she'd be good in a Juno type roll.

I have recently got my hands on lots of the Crows Toes range (thanks to a Sparkly friend) and have been experimenting with different layering combinations. I actually got this particular one from Llarowe, but it took a little time for me to try it out! Enjoy.

Bunny Slope is a mix of fine white (matte), opal (iridescent) and silver (holo) glitter in a clear base. It's so beautiful and delicate! I applied 1 coat over Pixie Dust and the coverage was excellent. I'd quite like to try it on its own.

Pixie Dust was one of the earliest polishes I owned (once I started hoarding!). And it'll never get old! It's a blue grey with white flakie shimmer - freaking amazing - my favourite finish of all time. I can't remember if it's a 2 or 3 coater, but the formula is a wee bit thick, which me likey.

I'm edging closer and closer to the 35o follower mark and once I get there, I will be hosting a giveaway or two! This time it's set in stone. So get a friend or two to follow me through GFC and you'll be away laughing on a fast camel!
