Haze Glaze Sunshine Swatch & Review

Afternoon all,

Two posts in one day?!!!!

This is Sunshine from Haze Glaze

Sunshine - 2 coats - sunlight

Sunshine - 2 coats - shade

Sunshine - 2 coats -white light

Sunshine - 2 coats - white light

Sunshine is a tangerine (this pale orange is what I call tangerine FYI) frosty shimmer. It is scattered with small gold hex glitter and large dark orange & golden holographic hex. I think there is also some square glitter in there too but I'm not sure what colour it is, maybe tangerine too? The application was pretty decent, you have to give it a good shake to get the large hex glitters onto your nail but it wasn't difficult or anything. It actually looked like 1 coat gave full coverage but I added another because that's just what I'm used to!! I then topped it with SV Quick Dry top coat.

I have to say this is not my favourite shade, though it looks quite nice on me. It looked like a sheer gold shimmer with glitter in the etsy listing and I actually bought it because I thought it'd be a great layering polish. Well it turned out to be a pale orange which just isn't my style but it is very pretty. And just like with Mermaid Dreams, the longer I see it on my nails the more I'm liking it. I do enjoy a polish that grows on me, as opposed to the ones that slowly lose my favour!

You can get your hands on Sunshine and other Haze Glaze lacquers at Hazel's Etsy shop HAZE GLAZE

What do you think of Sunshine?

St Paddy's Day Manis - PART 2

Hey ladies,

As promised my St Patrick's Day manicure:

Nubar Reclaim - 2 coats - white light

Nubar Reclaim - 2 coats - white light

Nubar Reclaim - 2 coats - white light

Pot of gold - closeup
I picked Nubar Reclaim to wear for St Patty's Day. 1) it's an amazing linear holo. 2) I never get a chance to wear it so what better time than on St Patrick's Day?!
Reclaim has a fantastic formula unlike most holos and went on perfectly in 2 coats. I used Out the Door topcoat.

My accent nails were pots of gold at the end of a rainbow. I blocked out the details in OPI Alpine Snow then added the rainbow 1 strip at a time top to bottom using:
OPI Keys To My Karma
OPI A Roll In The Hague
OPI The 'It' Color
OPI Don't Mess With OPI
Barry M Cobalt Blue
China Glaze Urban Night
Next I painted on the pot using Nubar Midnight Sky (matte) and made the gold coins using a dollop of China Glaze Passion (gold chrome) and Solar Flare for the glitter hex.

I was pretty proud of these nails. I kept it simple because I was in a time crunch but they looked really good in person and I didn't have any dents or scratches to ruin it like usual!!!! But I partied with all guys so I didn't get any compliments!!!! Guts. haha

What are you wearing for the Saint's day?

St Paddy's Day Manis

Happy St Patrick's Day Everyone!

I hope you're getting on the turps in a big way; maybe a pint or two of Guinness, to celebrate our leprechaun friends!

My friends Lisa and Liz popped round today for green manis! They brought lunch with them score!!

The number of greens I'd pulled el Stasho overwhelmed them a little but we finally settled on glittery greens for them with a shamrock accent nail.

Here's the results:

Lisa's China Glaze Emerald Sparkle
Lisa had 2 coats of ChG Emerald Sparkle with an accent nail in Dollish Polish Goonies Never Say Die and ES agan for the shamrock.

Liz's Tony Moly Neptune
Liz chose my brand spanking new Tony Moly Neptune (I feel like it should be called Earth since it's green but ho hum) with Goonies Never Say Die on her ring finger.

It was so much fun gossiping and doing my friends nails!! Makes me want to start a birthday party nail business. We could be the Nail Polish Fairies and paint little girls/teens nail for them!

I'm currently painting my nails with Nubar Reclaim! Will show you the pics tomorrow.

Have a fantastic day/night!

Wonder Beauty Aphrodisiac Swatch & Review + a little change

Hi guys,

I just discovered another blog with the exact same name and using the same title font as mine so I've added the NZ and changed the font to try to distinguish them a little more!!! Hope you don't get confused :)

Now on to Aphrodisiac...

Seriously super gorgeous and unique, I did not want to take it off my nails! Totally worth the cost of shipping to NZ. I found this store on etsy through Lacey Lou's Nail Stockpile. It's actually Lacey's mum's store selling the same style palette nail polish. Just as amazing as Lacey's, only different polishes!

Aphrodisiac - 2 coats - white light

Aphrodisiac - 2 coats - white light

Aphrodisiac - 2 coats - close up
Aphrodisiac is a pastel minty green milky semi sheer base with gold micro small and medium hex glitter as well as green and aqua small hex glitter and medium silver hex. So very pretty! Applied really well. I just gave it a good stir up a couple of times during application to get the maximum number of glitters on my nails!! At two generous coats I was happy with the coverage. Still some slight VNL but I think it looked best that way.  If I ever want to make it opaque I think I'll just layer it over a similar coloured creme. I can see this looking great over OPI Thanks a Windmillion and Mermaids Tears or Zoya Bevin.
I used 1 coat of the Crystal Clear Liquid Fusing/Top Coat that comes with every nail palette. It is nice and thick and gives a great shne, but it is not a quick drying top coat. It is dry to the touch rather quickly but takes the normal amount of time to set. I think I may start using this stuff as a glitter tamer....

You can find Aphrodisiac and more of Wonder Beauty Products polishes at their etsy store. They are US$10 per palette - including the palette, fusing/top coat and a mixing stick.

What do you think? Have you gotten your hands on any nail palette polish yet?

Haze Glaze Mermaid Dreams :Swatch & Review

Hey ladies,

Here's a new Haze Glaze polish for you to gawk at!

Mermaid Dreams - 2 coats - sunlight

Mermaid Dreams - 2 coats -white light

Mermaid Dreams - 2 coats -white light

Mermaid Dreams - 2 coats -close up
First up is Mermaid Dreams - this one was LE because the pigment was discontinued. Needless to say that made me want it all the more and I ended up grabbing the last bottle!!!

Mermaid Dreams is a beautiful golden sage green with a borderline frost/shimmer finish and contains gold and aqua small hex, lavender square and large gold hex glitters. The formula is fairly thin which was unexpected but very pigmented needing just 2 coats for full coverage. The large gold hex was a little difficult to get onto my nails but nothing a quick fish couldn't fix. I used 1 coat of SV top coat and in person it looked pretty smooth.

This actually grew on me. I applied it at night time and in the poor lighting I thought it looked ultra frosty and I was kind of disappointed. Then the more I looked at my nails the less frosty it looked, until in the morning I went outside into the natural light and realised I was in love. I don't have any other polishes even a little bit similar to this one or with finishes that come even close! Hazel has a wide range of colours in the same style and I really want some of the purples and blues now!

Michaela's branching out ya'll!!!

You can find Hazel's lacquers at her Etsy store Haze Glaze or by clicking *here*.
The full size bottles are US$8.79 each or you can get a 3 minis for $12.75. You'll be happy to know that Hazel has amazing customer service to boot!

What do you think?
