Feeling Royal-ly Chic?

Hello ladies,

Yes, I am feeling in a big way; Royally Chic. Why? Because Royal Chic by Glitrix is AMAZING.
Imagine Zoya Valerie or Jem as a glitter... can you picture it? No? Well now you don't have to, because I have a photo right here.

Royal Chic is a royal purple filled with a fuchsia shimmer, yellow gold & fuchsia/purple glitter. It is incredibly opaque. I used 2 coats for the photos and most nails really only needed 1 for full coverage. The glitter likes to sink to the bottom but there is so much in the bottle that you don't have to shake it much. The more you shake the more intense the glitter is, so you can control the sparkle factor. Good dry time & not too gritty. I believe this was only 1 layer of Seche Vite. The first pic is a bit blurry but it shows the pretty shimmer in the base :)

This is the polish that prompted me to place an order. I'm very glad it lived up to expectations.

You can purchase Royal Chic & other Glix polish from the Glitrix Etsy Store

Hope all your weekends were wonderful

You're Buddha-ful, it's true

I saw your face
In a crowded place
And I don't know what to do
Cause I'll never be with you

Or so I thought... Yes, that's right; I finally got my sweaty little hands on Barielle Buddha-ful!!! And I'm guarding her ever so zealously!!!

Sadly my pics of her a wee bit on the awful side - haven't actually got around layering my Buddha much! I also picked up Positive Zen-ergy  at the same time, so so GORGEOUS! Sometimes Barielle really  hits their mark!

Buddha-ful is a beautiful sheer pink filled with flakies - in the bottle. On the nail the base just looks milky nude. The flakes are gorgeous. They sparkle blue/purple, green, an maybe verge on yellow. They can also look like the base colour at certain angles. It all adds up to a really delicate flakie that has become my favourite. It's perfect to layer over a nude or office appropriate manicure for a bit more pizazz, while maintaining a lady-like appearance. I'm wearing just 2 coats in the pictures above and unfortunately under the lamp I couldn't capture the true beauty, but it gives you a good idea.

Positive Zen-ergy is a beautiful green shimmer. It falls somewhere between avocado & jade. Unique to the core. The shimmer is fine white/silver flaked glitter, the same as in Essie Smooth Sailing & Super Bossa Nova (only finer). I am completely in love with this one too. So much so, that I couldn't bear layering Buddha-ful over it!!! Gorgeous formula too. Can't wait to wear this more. Two coats was plenty.

What do you think? Click on the pics to enlarge them if you like.
BTW do you prefer this size photo or the extra large I usually do?

Hope your weekends are going good.

Glitrix

Good Evening Ladies,

Whilst surfing Etsy a month or so ago, I came across Glitrix.
Lynn's shop sells a few bits and bobs including franken polish called Glix. They are all glittery creations and come in star shaped 5mL bottles. She also sells empty star bottles (and I snapped some up because they were so cute & she doesn't charge shipping!).

I got myself 2 purple glitter polishes called Royal Chic & Royal Flush - don't have pics of them yet - and darling that she is, Lynn threw in a freebie called Gold Rush.

Gold Rush bottle shot - I didn't shake it up so it's much glitterier IRL

Gold Rush is a golden glitter top coat. It contains gold shimmer, small gold hex and large gold holo hex glitters. I just did a quickie swatch on the thumb only to try it out but when I post the other two polishes I'll have a full mani with this one too. I layered it over an unnamed Miki mini mint shimmer lacquer. I think they look nice together but I'd like to see it over white and gold. It might even look quite cool over a purple or something.

This does need a really good shake up because the glitter sinks to the bottom, but besides that the formula and brush are really decent. I believe I used 2 coats of Gold Rush for the photos above. I'm really happy with this, especially since it's a freebie!!!

Lynn has a couple of new creme based glitter polishes in the shop now too and they look quite dreamy!

Hope you're a fan of Gold Rush too! Click *here* to be check out Glixtrix

The TOXIC Avenger

Hello 'ello,

Christmas is getting closer and closer; why oh why?!
That said, I am enjoying some of the xmas music on the radio. Like The Pogues & that one Last Christmas (I gave you my heart and the very next day, you gave it away. This year to save me from tears, I'll give it to someone special...)
It always plays when I'm parking my car at the mall!!!

Today I'm getting round to showing you one of Dolly's bestest frankens of all time. I think she entered Toxic Avenger in an online franken competition & I can't believe it didn't win. It's just Ridiculously cool - it fully deserves 8 photos!

The pictures pretty much say it all. The only thing I can add is that the pink can be a bit more evident in real life, but my camera wouldn't capture it properly.
This was 3 easy, thin coats - very buildable. I wonder how this would look as a top coat? I must try layering it over something to see if it's too dense or will work a bit like a silver holo top coat...

You can get your hands on Toxic Avenger by visiting Dolly's Etsy shop Dollish Polish. I believe it'll set you back US$4.25 for a 5mL bottle or $7-8 for a 15mL. Looks like it's out of stock right now but I'm sure it'll be back in the new year.

Hope this adds a bright spot to your day

My First Christmas Manicure

Hello!

In the weekend I finally decided to embrace the Christmas spirit!

right hand - lamp (eww thumb!!)

I just wanted an excuse to get  Orly Au Champagne back on my nails!!
Originally I was going to attempt bows on the present nails but then I was a little rushed so just went with ribbon. I like the accent nails the most - been waiting since July to use Party Hearty!!

Polishes Used:
Base - China Glaze Emerald Sparkled, China Glaze Ruby Pumps & Orly Au Champagne
Ribbons - Orly Luxe
Glitter Top Coat - Orly Party Hearty

How can you beat red, green & gold glitter at xmas time?!

My next xmas manicures will be based around 'A Kiwi Christmas' - that means sun, surf, sand, pohutukawa & bbqs!!!!! Fingers crossed I manage to get some of that stuff on my nails!

Are any of you still resisting the xmas atmosphere?
